Your questions,
our honest answers

Different insoles are available for Scout 2.0 to increase or reduce the volume in the shoe. For this purpose, we have developed a slightly thicker insole for narrow feet and a slightly thinner insole for wider feet.

Our Vario-Wide-Fit-System allows you to adjust the volume in the shoe.

The Scout 2.0 has been tested according to the standard DGUV 112-191 (BGR 191) and is therefore approved for orthopaedic insoles.

This allows the Scout 2.0 to be adapted even more optimally to the foot and to support its anatomical structure.

The men's model of the HAIX Scout 2.0 is produced on a wider last to give wider feet more room in the shoe. There are no visual or functional differences here.

The men's model is recommended for wider feet due to the fit.

In contrast to the previous model, the Scout 2.0 is equipped with a classic lacing. This ensures that it is even easier to put on the shoes, which have proven to have a rather narrow design.

The half-high Scout 2.0 is easy to put on thanks to the classic lacing.

The Scout 2.0 can be cared for quickly and easily. With colourless, grease-free shoe polish for suede and nubuck leather, which does not affect the breathability of the leather or the colour of the shoe, and a waterproofing agent, the shoe is cared for.

The uncomplicated Scout 2.0 ensures long-lasting enjoyment of the shoe's quality.

From experience, the Scout 2.0 tends to run smaller. We therefore recommend chooding one size larger.

Expreience has shown that the shoe runs one size smaller.

You can find all the right spare parts for our shoes on our spare parts page.

We produce in a UK shoe size system. The distance between our half UK sizes is only a few millimetres. This makes it more likely to find exactly the right shoe length.

Half UK sizes differ in length by only a few millimetres.

You can simply wash the dirty shoes with water and a brush. Please do not dry the wet shoes (even if they are wet on the inside) on an open fire, a hot stove or a heater. This will change the shape of the shoe. Simply remove the footbed and stuff the shoes with newspaper or use a shoe tree. Then allow the shoes to air dry slowly. We recommend washing the footbed regularly at 30°. In general, it is best to remove the footbed from the shoes after every wear to ensure optimal re-drying.

Simply clean it with a brush and water and let it air dry.

HAIX shoes are 100% Made in Europe. For us, this is not just lip service, but lived practice. When it says "Made in Europe" on a HAIX shoe, we assure you that it was made exclusively at our production sites in Mainburg and Mala Subotica, Croatia. Both plants are among the most modern shoe manufacturing facilities in the world.

By the way: "Made in Europe" is not only a promise of quality for us, but also stands for good working conditions, equal opportunities, sustainability and corporate responsibility.

Fantastic boot

This boot was my third try after trying and returning boots from a few other manufacturers. They feel strong and solid, but still super light. I use them for bikepacking because I wanted to have a good solid hiking boot for the hike-a-bike sections of a trail. They've already been through some serious terrain and weather and they've kept me dry and warm and have gripped firmly to all the wet, uneven surfaces I've taken them across.

Very good product

The best boots I've used.

This is my fourth pair of Haix Scout boots. I wear them daily to work and overall believe they are some of the best boots I've ever used. They are comfortable and supportive (even after long periods), durable, light and well styled.
The website sizing guide is a little on the small side. When entering foot length the guide recommended a UK 10.5 but UK 11 is my usual size, the UK 11 fit best.
One thing I have found with these boots is that after heavy use over a year or so the toe box can start to collapse pressing on the toes and making the boot feel too small. Not too much of an issue if you replace them regularly, as I've normally worn them out by this point.
I was a little dubious of the switch to the 2.0 version, I was always a big fan of the quick lace system and the better insoles which don't appear in the 2.0 version. It feels like Haix have possibly tried to save on production cost a little.
It's too early to report how well the 2.0 compares to the original Scout, but I'm hopeful they will live up to their reputation.

Great Boot - 2nd pair

Second pair of Scout Boots. Hard-wearing and very comfortable, my only wish is they'd kept the quick-lacing system from Scout 1, both for the speed, and the ability to vary the tightness in the lacing two zones.
