Which shoes are suitable for electricians?

For work on live electrical conductors, insulating safety shoes are required. Such shoes are rarely available under European standards (EN), and we do not offer them.

In practice, however, electricians should not work on live parts. If this cannot be avoided, an insulating rubber mat is used. This provides insulation and protection.

Important distinction: Antistatic ≠ ESD ≠ insulating

To avoid misunderstandings:

• Antistatic shoes → Standard footwear for electricians.

• ESD shoes → Highly conductive. Used in areas where even the smallest electrical charges could damage electronic components (electronics manufacturing).

• Insulating shoes → Do not conduct electrical current at all. They are not commonly used by electricians in Europe, as insulating mats are used instead.
